De Appelhof can be found in a rural area, in the southeast of Friesland. The site is approximately 1.5 hectares and has several fields surrounded by hedgerows.

Our site is a typical example of a peat area: an elongated strip of land intersected with a number of ditches. It's about a 12 minute walk from front to back.
